Fangalabolo Bat Necklace
.

The giant bat of Madacascar, Fangalabolo!
I stumbled upon this cryptid when I was researching candidates for The Horrorscope.
This hair-pulling beast was thought to be an unknown species of fruit bat which was said to be larger than the Madacascan Flying Fox, which could have a wingspan of up to 5ft.
Yeah, when scale goes out the window, it just looks like any other bat-
but I couldn't let a name like 'Fangalabolo" pass me by.
First mentioned in print in 1950 (La Faun Malgache, son role dans less croyances et less usages indigenes)
Source: Mysterious Creatures: A Guide to Cryptozoology by George M. Eberhart, recommended to me by Mike Stafford, to who I am now creatively indebted. Thanks, Mike!
